Born in Sarajevo, Ljubomir Stanisic arrived in Portugal in 1997. He opened his first restaurant in 2004 (closed in 2008), in Cascais, where he immediately won several prizes. On January 2009, he inaugurated his first restaurant in Lisbon, 100 Maneiras, with a single tasting menu and, one year later, Bistro 100 Maneiras, named number 1 in the world by the prestigious Monocle magazine in 2017.
The most Portuguese-Yugoslav-chef-ever is author of five books and a celebrity chef since 2011, when he made his first appearance on tv, as jury in the first “Masterchef Portugal”. He is the co-author and main character of “Papa Quilómetros” TV show, broadcasted by Fox International Channels across Europe in 2013 and, between 2017 and 2020, he became the host of the portuguese version of “Kitchen Nightmares”, an audience leader, that lasted for three seasons. In February 2019, he opened the new 100 Maneiras (1 Michelin star), in Bairro Alto, a project built for 4 years which is the consolidation of Ljubomir, both as a man and a cook, and 100 Maneiras, as a unique brand in gastronomy.
On that same year, the restaurant was listed in the first 50 Best Discovery list, published by the organization of The World’s 50 Best (one of the most important international awards in the world of restaurants), and in 2020 it won its first Michelin star. In August 2020, he launched his online store, gathering all the products with his signature, created throughout the years. In March 2021, he made his debut conducting the portuguese version of “Hell’s Kitchen” at SIC, which aired its second season on 2022. In November 2021, he opened Carnal, a Mexican gastrobar, awarded with a Bib Gourmand, with Manuel Maldonado (exec chef) and Luis Ortiz (head chef) – the “hijos” of 100. It was still in November 2021, that the documentary film “Ljubomir Stanišić – Heartbeat” had its national premiere. It’s a documentary about gastronomy and the chef, but also about a “refugee” who overcame the stigma of being an emigrant through the power of work. In the 2nd semester of 2022 the documentary made its debut on the international circuit of film festivals, in countries such as Turkey, Israel, Spain, Germany, USA and Mexico. In July 2022, he returns to the small screen with the docuseries “On The Road” where, together with two great friends, Nuno Faria and Paulo Furtado (the music aka The Legendary Tigerman) travels throughout Portugal and show a new way of looking at the country, the places, the cuisine and the people. In October 2023, Ljubomir was the host of the first “Hell’s Kitchen Famous” in the world, aired at SIC.
